The BKF M16A2 11.5″ XM177-style retro rifle is part of B. King’s Firearms’ Retro Series, inspired by the final Air Force GAU-5/A and Army XM177E2 carbines. These historic rifles, often referred to as the Colt Commando or CAR-15, were issued in limited numbers to special operations forces, air crews, security police, and support personnel during the Vietnam-era and beyond.

This rifle features an 11.5″ chrome-lined 4150 chrome moly vanadium barrel with a 1:7 twist rate and carbine-length gas system. A period-correct 6″ extended retro flash hider is permanently pinned and welded to achieve a legal overall barrel length exceeding 16 inches. The pinned front sight base and classic two-piece handguards preserve the authentic XM177 profile while maintaining modern compliance.

The M16A2 upper and lower receivers are forged from U.S.-sourced 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in black anodizing. Features include A2 rear sight assembly, M4 feed ramps, mil-spec fire control group, and a standard M16 bolt carrier group with chrome-lined phosphate finish and MPI/HPT testing.
