Firearms & Ammunition Sales
Q: Do I need a background check to buy a firearm?
A: Yes. All firearm purchases require a background check through the FBI’s NICS system, unless you present a valid permit that qualifies for an exemption under federal law.
Q: Can you ship firearms directly to my house?
A: No. Firearms must be shipped to a licensed Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer in your area, where you’ll complete the background check before pickup.
Q: Can I buy ammunition online and have it shipped to my home?
A: Yes, except where restricted. We do not ship ammunition to the following states or cities with prohibitive laws: CA, CT, IL (Chicago), MA, NJ, NY, and Washington D.C. ID may be required in some cases.
Q: Do I need to be a Delaware resident to buy from you?
A: No. We serve customers nationwide. However, firearm sales must comply with your state’s laws and must be transferred through an FFL in your state.
Orders & Shipping
Q: How long does it take to process and ship my order?
A: Most in-stock items ship within 1–3 business days. Firearms may take longer depending on FFL transfer coordination and background check clearance.
Q: How much is shipping?
A: Shipping costs vary by item and destination. You’ll see calculated rates at checkout. Oversized or heavy items may incur additional fees.
Q: What shipping carriers do you use?
A: We use UPS, USPS, and FedEx depending on the item type and destination. Firearms are shipped via UPS or FedEx to FFL dealers only.
FFL Transfers
Q: How do I choose an FFL dealer for my firearm transfer?
A: During checkout, you’ll be prompted to select an FFL from our integrated dealer locator. You may also manually email us your preferred dealer’s license if it’s not listed.
Q: What if my chosen FFL dealer refuses the transfer?
A: If your dealer refuses the shipment, the firearm will be returned to us and a restocking fee may apply. Please confirm with your dealer before placing your order.
Q: Can I pick up my firearm from Coastal Firearms directly?
A: Yes, Delaware residents may schedule an in-person pickup by appointment and complete the background check on-site.
Returns & Warranty
Q: Can I return a firearm or ammunition?
A: No. All firearm and ammunition sales are final. Please inspect your items before transfer. Manufacturer defects may be covered under warranty.
Q: What if I receive a defective product?
A: Contact us within 3 days of delivery. For items under warranty, we’ll assist you with manufacturer contact or exchange if applicable.
Q: Do you charge a restocking fee?
