The BKF M16A1 Colt Commando (XM177 / GAU-5) retro rifle is part of B. King’s Firearms’ Retro Series, faithfully capturing the look and feel of the classic Colt Commando carbines. Also known as the Colt Model 619—the export and commercial variant of the Model 609—this rifle blends historical accuracy with modern reliability.

This rifle features an 11.5″ chrome-lined 4150 CMV barrel with a 1:7 twist rate and carbine-length gas system. A 6″ retro flash hider is permanently pinned and welded to achieve a legal overall barrel length exceeding 16 inches, allowing use on a standard lower receiver without NFA registration. The non-F-marked front sight base and A1 rear sight assembly preserve authentic early-carbine sighting characteristics.

The M16A1 lower receiver is forged from U.S.-sourced 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in black anodizing with period-correct “Property of US Govt.” markings and A1 selector engravings. Finished with OD Green B5 Armory CAR-15 furniture and classic round two-piece handguards, this rifle delivers unmistakable Colt Commando styling.
