Pre-Owned WWII Inland Division General Motors M1 Carbine – .30 Carbine
$1,399.00
A classic WWII U.S. M1 Carbine manufactured by Inland Division of General Motors, chambered in .30 Carbine.
This vintage military rifle features a walnut stock, adjustable rear aperture sight, detachable magazine, green military-style sling and the traditional compact configuration that made the M1 Carbine one of the most recognizable American service firearms of the Second World War.
This example shows substantial but attractive military-surplus character, with age-appropriate stock wear, handling marks and metal finish wear.
Description
Pre-Owned WWII U.S. M1 Carbine – Inland Division General Motors – .30 Carbine
A genuine piece of American military-firearms history, this U.S. M1 Carbine chambered in .30 Carbine was manufactured by Inland Division of General Motors for the U.S. government during World War II.
Inland was the largest producer of M1 Carbines during the war, manufacturing more than 2.6 million carbines—roughly 40% of total wartime production. Inland was also heavily involved in the development and production of several M1 Carbine variants. An Official Journal Of The NRA
The M1 Carbine was officially adopted as the United States Carbine, Caliber .30, M1, and Inland was among the first manufacturers contracted to produce it. Inland production began during 1942 and continued through the end of World War II. An Official Journal Of The NRA
Classic U.S. Military Configuration
This carbine retains the traditional military configuration associated with the M1 Carbine, including:
- .30 Carbine chambering
- Semi-automatic action
- Approximately 18-inch barrel
- Military-style wooden stock and handguard
- Adjustable aperture rear sight
- Detachable box magazine
- Green military-style sling
The rifle also includes the removable cone-style flash hider shown in the photographs, marked “HIDER-FLASH SPAIN.”
Condition
This M1 Carbine displays the honest wear and character expected from a vintage U.S. military firearm.
The wooden stock and handguard show numerous scratches, dents, handling marks, finish wear and other signs of long-term use. These marks are readily visible in the photographs and contribute to the rifle’s military-surplus appearance.
The metal components likewise show age-appropriate finish wear, patina, scratches and handling marks. Overall, the rifle presents as a well-used military carbine rather than a refinished or cosmetically restored example.
The firearm is equipped with an adjustable rear aperture sight. Early-production M1 Carbines originally used simpler L-shaped rear sights, while adjustable rear sights were introduced later in the war and were also commonly installed during subsequent military rebuild programs. An Official Journal Of The NRA
Because M1 Carbines were routinely repaired, rebuilt and fitted with interchangeable components from multiple government contractors during and after military service, Coastal Firearms does not represent this firearm as all-original, matching, or factory-correct as originally manufactured unless additional component inspection establishes otherwise.
