The Dark Storm Industries DS-15 Variant 1 Standard Rifle is engineered to deliver competition-grade performance and combat-ready reliability in a refined AR-15 platform. Manufactured by Dark Storm Industries, this rifle combines advanced materials, thoughtful design, and premium finishes typically found on rifles at a much higher price point.

At its core is a precision-matched billet receiver set machined from U.S.-produced 7075-T651 aluminum, finished with Cerakote H-Series over mil-spec Type III Class 2 hardcoat anodizing. The rifle features partial ambidextrous controls, including a DSI ambidextrous charging handle and billet ambidextrous 90-degree safety selector, paired with a premium two-stage trigger offering a crisp 4.5-pound pull.

The 16-inch SOCOM-profile barrel, machined from 4150 CMV steel and finished with a black nitride heat treatment, delivers excellent durability and accuracy without unnecessary weight. A mid-length gas system promotes smooth recoil impulse and reliable cycling, while the Competition Compensator helps reduce muzzle rise during rapid fire. An extended 13-inch M-LOK handguard provides a rigid mounting platform for optics, lights, and accessories.

Additional features include the DSI Mil+ bolt carrier group, engineered with enhanced materials and finishes for long service life, and the Mil+ carbine buffer system with a neoprene-dampened buffer for improved shooting comfort.
