Description

Carbon Destroyer XX™ Extreme-Duty Firearm Cleaner

Carbon Destroyer XX™ is a double-strength firearm carbon cleaner engineered for the most demanding cleaning jobs. While standard Carbon Destroyer™ is ideal for routine range fouling, Carbon Destroyer XX™ is designed for suppressors with months of baked-on carbon, machine gun bolts, heavily fouled firearm components, and surplus firearms coated in Cosmoline or preservative grease.

Using the same water-based enzymatic technology as the original formula at twice the concentration, Carbon Destroyer XX™ penetrates the bond between carbon deposits and metal surfaces. This allows stubborn fouling to loosen and lift away with minimal brushing or scrubbing.

The formula is water-based, non-flammable, low odor, and safe on compatible metal surfaces when used as directed. It can be sprayed directly onto components, applied with a brush, used as a soaking solution, or added to an ultrasonic cleaning tank.

Why Choose Carbon Destroyer XX™?

  • Double-strength cleaning power: Contains twice the concentration of standard Carbon Destroyer™.
  • Extreme carbon removal: Attacks stubborn, polymerized, and baked-on carbon buildup.
  • Suppressor maintenance: Ideal for cleaning removable suppressor baffles and heavily fouled metal components.
  • Cosmoline removal: Breaks down heavy preservative grease commonly found on surplus firearms.
  • Ultrasonic compatible: Suitable for use in ultrasonic cleaning tanks and may be diluted for larger applications.
  • Metal safe: Compatible with steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and nickel alloys.
  • Indoor friendly: Water-based, non-flammable, and free from harsh solvent fumes.
  • Made in the USA: Manufactured domestically using a biodegradable, low-VOC formula.

Ideal For

  • Military and law-enforcement armorers
  • Suppressor owners
  • Gunsmiths
  • Competitive shooters
  • Ultrasonic cleaner users
  • Surplus firearm restoration
  • Heavily fouled rifles, pistols, and shotguns
  • Machine gun bolts and high-round-count components

Suppressor and Heavy Carbon Cleaning

Carbon Destroyer XX™ is specifically suited for the severe carbon buildup commonly found on suppressor baffles and high-round-count firearm components. Its concentrated enzymatic formula saturates the adhesion layer between the carbon and metal, helping the buildup release from the surface.

For heavily fouled suppressor components, apply the cleaner generously and allow it to work for approximately 5 to 10 minutes. Longer soaking may be appropriate for compatible all-metal components. Always follow the suppressor manufacturer’s cleaning and disassembly instructions.

Cosmoline and Preservative Grease Removal

Carbon Destroyer XX™ can also be used to remove Cosmoline and other heavy preservative greases from compatible metal firearm parts. Apply the formula generously, allow it to soak for 5 to 10 minutes, and wipe away the loosened residue. Extremely heavy deposits may require a second application.

Ultrasonic Cleaning Solution

Carbon Destroyer XX™ is fully compatible with ultrasonic cleaning tanks. Its concentrated formula makes it a cost-effective option for gunsmiths, armorers, and firearm owners who regularly clean multiple metal components.

The product may be diluted with water for ultrasonic use. Always follow the ultrasonic cleaner manufacturer’s instructions and verify that all parts placed in the tank are suitable for ultrasonic cleaning.

How to Use Carbon Destroyer XX™

  1. Confirm the firearm is unloaded and remove all ammunition from the cleaning area.
  2. Disassemble the firearm or component according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  3. Spray, brush, soak, or place compatible metal components in an ultrasonic cleaning tank.
  4. Allow the formula to work for approximately 30 seconds to 10 minutes depending on the severity of the buildup.
  5. Wipe, brush, or rinse away the loosened carbon and contamination.
  6. Dry all metal components thoroughly.
  7. Apply Accuracy Oil™ or another suitable firearm lubricant and corrosion protectant after cleaning.

Compatibility Notice

Carbon Destroyer XX™ is safe on compatible metals and most common firearm finishes when used as directed. Because of its concentrated formula, avoid prolonged soaking of polymer frames, rubber seals, synthetic stocks, and other nonmetal components. Apply with a brush or cloth to these materials and wipe clean promptly.

Always dry metal surfaces thoroughly after cleaning and apply an appropriate firearm lubricant and corrosion protectant to help prevent flash rust.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I use Carbon Destroyer XX™?

Use Carbon Destroyer XX™ for extreme fouling, including suppressor carbon, heavily fouled bolts, high-round-count firearm components, and surplus firearms coated with Cosmoline. Standard Carbon Destroyer™ is generally sufficient for routine cleaning.

Is Carbon Destroyer XX™ safe on aluminum and titanium?

Yes. Carbon Destroyer XX™ is compatible with steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and nickel alloys when used as directed.

Can Carbon Destroyer XX™ be diluted?

Yes. A 1:1 dilution with water can approximate the concentration of standard Carbon Destroyer™. It may also be diluted for ultrasonic cleaning applications according to the cleaning requirements and equipment manufacturer’s instructions.

Can it remove Cosmoline?

Yes. The concentrated enzymatic formula helps break the adhesion between Cosmoline and metal surfaces, allowing the preservative grease to be wiped or rinsed away.

Does Carbon Destroyer XX™ leave a residue?

No. The water-based formula wipes or rinses clean. Dry all metal surfaces thoroughly and apply a suitable lubricant and protectant after cleaning.

Is it safe for polymer firearm components?

Avoid prolonged soaking of polymer frames, rubber seals, synthetic stocks, and similar materials. Apply the product with a cloth or brush and wipe it away promptly.
