How Our Consignment Program Works

  1. Evaluation & Intake
    • Bring your firearm to our store for inspection, or contact us to arrange a legal pickup if available in your area.
    • Our staff will evaluate the firearm, determine market value, and walk you through the consignment agreement.
  2. Listing & Marketing
    • Firearms are listed for sale on our website and on national platforms such as GunBroker and other approved firearms marketplaces.
    • Listings include professional photos, detailed descriptions, and competitive pricing strategies to ensure optimal exposure.
  3. Sale & Transfer
    • Once sold, Coastal Firearms handles the background check, transfer paperwork, and shipping (if applicable) in full compliance with federal and state law.
  4. Commission & Fees
    • Coastal Firearms retains a 10% commission on the final sale price.
    • Any additional fees charged by third-party platforms (e.g., GunBroker listing or final value fees) are deducted from the seller’s proceeds.

Consignment Terms

  • Ownership Verification: Sellers must present a valid government-issued photo ID and sign a consignment agreement affirming lawful ownership of the firearm.
  • Listing Duration: Firearms are listed for a minimum of 90 days. If unsold, the firearm may be returned or relisted at a revised price.
  • Withdrawal Policy: Firearms may be withdrawn from consignment at any time, provided they are not currently under active sale or bid. A handling fee may apply.
  • Condition Requirements: Firearms must be unloaded, safe to handle, and in good working order. We reserve the right to decline any item at our discretion.

Firearm Pickup Service (Where Legally Permitted)

Coastal Firearms offers local pickup of firearms for consignment where legally allowed. This service is available by appointment and subject to federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Firearms may be picked up at the seller’s residence or business by a licensed representative of Coastal Firearms.
  • The firearm must be lawfully owned, unloaded, and ready for secure transport at the time of pickup.
  • A valid government-issued photo ID is required from the consignor.
  • A Consignment Agreement and Intake Form will be completed on-site, and the firearm will be entered into our Acquisition and Disposition (A&D) record in accordance with ATF regulations.
  • Firearm transfers or sales will not be conducted off-site. All final sales and transfers are processed through our licensed premises or a receiving FFL.

Please note: This service is only available within our operating area and subject to approval. Coastal Firearms reserves the right to decline pickup requests for any reason, including legal restrictions or safety concerns.
