Defensive Rifle – AR Fundamentals

Safe, Practical Carbine Handling for Responsible Rifle Owners

Defensive Rifle – AR Fundamentals is a safety-focused rifle training course designed for responsible firearm owners who want to build confidence with the AR-platform rifle or similar defensive carbine.

This course focuses on safe rifle handling, AR safety principles, zeroing concepts, ready positions, reloads, malfunction basics, and practical carbine handling in a controlled training environment.

The goal is not speed or advanced tactics. The goal is to develop safe, consistent, responsible rifle-handling skills that students can continue to build through structured practice and professional instruction.

Course Overview

The AR-platform rifle is one of the most common rifles owned by American firearm owners, but many students have never received formal instruction on safe handling, setup, zeroing, loading, unloading, ready positions, or basic problem-solving.

This class introduces students to the core knowledge and safe operating habits needed to handle a defensive rifle responsibly.

Students will learn how to better understand their rifle, maintain muzzle awareness, manage safety controls, confirm sighting/zeroing concepts, perform basic reloads, recognize common stoppages, and handle the rifle safely around others.

This course is appropriate for newer rifle owners, students transitioning from handgun training, and experienced shooters who want a structured fundamentals review.
